Who I am?
my name is Niklas Marienhagen and I am an Augsburg-based graphic design student in my third year. I speak fluently english and german. I am 23 years old and my origin town is Ratisbon, Bavaria. After I finished my A-Grades and a year at the »Akademie für Gestaltung Regensburg«, I decided to become a Graphic Designer and moved to Augsburg to start studying. At summer semester 2016, after three semesters of learning the basics of design, I started specializing in Information Design.
What my hobbies are?
My Hobbies and Activities are widespread: I enjoy cooking food at least as much as I do eating it, preferably with a good wine. Besides my culinary interest I am a highly interested in aesthetics in all of its forms: I love nice clothes, books, antiques, art. I love to draw and to take photographs. And of course I love beautiful landscapes and cities. One of my more unusual (and expencive) interests are intriguing smells, what is the reason why I own a small collection of perfumes.
Why I am doing information design?
I am a pretty curious person with a widespread set of interests, what can be seen as a double-sided blade. One of the disadvantages is that I get bored fairly fast if I would just do the same thing over and over again. On the other side, these conditions make me a fast thinker and help me learn new things fast and effective.
Information design is one of the fields where I am constantly learning new things, both about the process of creating information design and the topics that I am researching, so this profession fits me perfectly. I currently enjoy the process of making graphics a lot, especially to observe how I am becoming better and faster with each project I make.
I will showcase my projects here at my website.
Hopefully you will have as much fun watching the results as I had creating them. In case you have any questions, feel free to get in touch via mail: niklas.marienhagen[at]web.de
